Year 10

Welcome to the Year 10 Hub

This page contains all the essential information, updates, and resources needed to support your child's journey in Year 10.

Year 10 marks the official start of your child's GCSE and vocational pathway. While the final examinations take place at the end of Year 11, the core knowledge, coursework modules, and study habits required for success are established right now. Our goal this year is to balance academic ambition with strong personal development, ensuring every student feels confident, supported, and prepared for the road ahead.

Academic Milestones & Key Updates

The KS4 Transition & Strategy

Autumn Term

Focus shifts entirely to GCSE and vocational specifications.

Revision Techniques

Spring Term

As curriculum content intensifies, students learn advanced memory retention skills to help in revising. Independent study schedules focus on mixing up different subjects to mirror real exam conditions.

Formal Mock Examinations

Summer Term

Students sit their first full-scale Year 10 Mock Exams under strict JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) regulations. These results isolate learning gaps and heavily influence predicted grades for post-16 college and apprenticeship applications.

Important Regulatory Update (SEND & Access Arrangements)

JCQ Guidance Notice: The Joint Council for Qualifications updated its official guidance regarding Access Arrangements and Special Considerations. If your child requires adjustments for exams (such as 25% extra time, a computer reader, or a scribe due to learning difficulties, medical needs, or sensory needs), formal assessment evidence must be processed early this year. Please contact our SENDCo department to ensure current Form 8 profiles are updated.

Bronze Mock Timetable

The timetable will be added here closer to the date.
