KTC Celebrated Global Diversity with Annual Culture Day 2026

Kemnal Technology College was filled with vibrant colours, international rhythms, and exciting global traditions on Monday 20th July 2026, as students and staff gathered for the highly anticipated KTC Culture Day.

The dynamic, all-day event offered students a break from their regular timetables to explore global heritage, creative arts, and international sports through an incredible line-up of hands-on workshops and immersive activities.

Dressed to Express

Students were invited to celebrate their personal heritage by wearing traditional cultural dress for the day, turning the campus into a magnificent showcase of global fashion.

Tasted the World: Free Global Food Tasting

During break time and lunchtime, the school canteen transformed into a bustling international food market. Every student had the opportunity to sample a completely free range of tasting dishes from across the globe, giving everyone a chance to try exciting new flavours and expanded culinary horizons.

Explored the 4 Activity Zones

Throughout the day, students rotated through four action-packed themed zones:

1. South Asian Culture

Students dived into the vibrant traditions of South Asia with two standout workshops:

• Bollywood Beats: Everyone got moving to high-energy Indian music while learning classic dance rhythms.
• Henna Tattoos: Skilled artists applied intricate, beautiful henna body art designs to participating students.

2. Arts & Creativity

Participants unleashed their artistic talent through hands-on global crafts:

• Flag Making: Students designed and crafted flags representing their personal heritage or cultures they admired.
• Cookie Decorating: Culinary art met creative design as students decorated—and enjoyed eating!—delicious cookies inspired by traditional international patterns.

3. Languages & Music

Pupils discovered global communication and vocal traditions across borders:

• World Languages: Interactive sessions taught key phrases, greetings, and fun idioms from a variety of international languages.
• Choir Singing: Voices were raised in harmony as students learned traditional songs from diverse cultural backgrounds.

4. Sport & The Grand Finale

Students stayed active with iconic games from around the world before concluding the day with an unforgettable school-wide event:

• Kubb (Europe): Players tested their tactical skills in "Viking Chess," a classic Swedish lawn game focused on knocking down wooden blocks.
• Kin-Ball (North America): Teams worked together using a giant 4-foot lightweight ball in this fast-paced Canadian sport.
• Aussie Rules (Oceania): Students mastered the basics of Australian Football, practising handballs, kicks, and high-flying catches.
• The Colour Run: To cap off a fantastic day, the entire school took part in a Colour Run. Students walked, jogged, and ran through safe, non-toxic colour stations, finishing the event covered in a brilliant rainbow of celebration.
