Get Ready for our School Culture Day 2026!

We are incredibly excited to announce our upcoming KTC Culture Day on Monday 20th July! This is an all-day event dedicated to celebrating the rich diversity, creativity, and global heritage of our school community.

Our students will step away from their regular timetables to travel the world through hands-on workshops, creative arts, and exciting physical activities.

Date Monday 20th July 2026
Time All Day (Normal school hours)
What to Wear Traditional Cultural Dress or PE kit
Lunch Free Global Food Tasting in the Canteen at break and lunchtime!

Dress to Express!

We invite all students to celebrate their heritage by wearing traditional cultural dress to school for the day!

If you choose to wear traditional dress, please bring a change of comfortable clothes (like a plain white T-shirt and black shorts/leggings) to change into for the sports activities and the Colour Run.

Free Global Food Tasting Event

No celebration of culture is complete without food! At break time and lunchtime, our Canteen will transform into a global food market.

Students will have the chance to try a delicious, completely free range of tasting dishes from around the world. Come with an open mind and a hungry appetite to sample some incredible international flavours!

Explore Our 4 Activity Zones

Students will rotate through four exciting zones throughout the day:

1. South Asian Culture

Dive into the vibrant traditions of South Asia!

  • Henna Tattoos: Beautiful, intricate henna designs applied by skilled artists.
  • Bollywood Beats: Get moving to the infectious energy and rhythms of Bollywood music.

Please Note: While completely natural, henna stains the skin and typically takes up to 10 days to fade completely. If you do not wish for your child to participate in the henna tattooing, please email us via the below to let us know:

If we do not hear from you regarding the henna, we will assume your son/daughter has your permission to opt-in on the day.

2. Arts & Creativity

Express yourself and create something beautiful to take home or display.

  • Flag Making: Design and craft flags representing your heritage or a culture you admire.
  • Cookie Decorating: Sweet treats meet artistic flair! Decorate (and eat!) delicious cookies inspired by global patterns.
3. Languages & Music

Discover the beauty of voice and communication across the globe.

  • World Languages: Learn fun phrases, idioms, and greetings in a variety of international languages.
  • Choir Singing: Raise your voice and learn beautiful songs from different global traditions.
4. Sport & The Grand Finale

Staying active and healthy the global way, leading up to our spectacular final event.

  • Kubb (Europe): Often called "Viking Chess," this is a classic, tactical Swedish lawn game where players try to knock down wooden blocks and capture the "King".
  • Kin-Ball (North America): An incredibly high-energy, cooperative Canadian sport played with a giant, lightweight, 4-foot ball where teams of four work together to keep the ball from hitting the ground.
  • Aussie Rules (Oceania): Give Australian Rules Football ("footy") a go! Learn the fast-paced basics of hand balling, kicking, and high-flying catches.
  • The Colour Run: To cap off an amazing day, we will be holding an all-school Colour Run! Students will walk, jog, or run through safe, non-toxic colour stations, finishing the day in a brilliant rainbow of celebration.
What Students Need to Bring

To make sure everyone has the best day possible, please come prepared with:

  • A plain white T-shirt (or a light-coloured one) to change into for the afternoon Colour Run so the colours really pop!
  • A water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • Sunscreen and a hat, as we will be spending plenty of time outdoors.

Note to Parents: The powder used in the Colour Run is non-toxic and washes out of most fabrics, but we highly recommend sending your child with a change of clothes that you don't mind getting a little colourful!
